Occupational health and safety in the context of the pharmacist’s work: scope review

Abstract

The pharmacist is allowed to develop activities related to other professions and to perform the systematization of actions aimed at Occupational Health and Safety. Such actions must consider the available evidence that allows (re)discussions involving decision-making processes, which can be summarized in the form of studies of systematic literature mapping. The currently available scientific literature does not include studies on Occupational Health and Safety in the context of pharmaceutical activities. Through a scoping review, the objective was to identify the scientific literature on the subject. The study adopted the Joanna Briggs Institute’s recommendations and the framework (which addresses five dimensions) proposed by Kaynak e cols. After searches in 10 databases (including grey literature) (involving 24 different strategies and three languages) and application of the stipulated criteria, eight manuscripts were included. The evidence points to the need to conduct investigative approaches to complement the corpus of evidence presented, in line with the valuation of employees as co-responsible agents and health promoters in work contexts.
