Objective: This study analyzed the adverse reactions of patients admitted to a high-complexity hospital belonging to the Sentinel Network with the aim of understanding the medications that most cause adverse reactions. Method: This is a retrospective ecological descriptive study, carried out in a large tertiary hospital, located in the state of São Paulo, in which adverse reactions included in the VigiMed system between August 2019 and August 2022 were analyzed. spontaneous notifications, as well as active searches carried out by the pharmacovigilance sector itself. Data analysis was carried out using Excel® 2016 spreadsheets. A total of 682 reports of suspected adverse
reactions were analyzed. Results and Conclusion:
In terms of gender distribution, 49.41% of notifications
corresponded to male patients and 50.59% to female patients. The notifications were also distributed by age group, with emphasis on the group of adults (from 19 to 59 years old) with 58.65%. Serious reactions accounted for 48.02% and non-serious reactions for 48.58%. 993 suspected medications were identified and the most reported
belonged to group J - antimicrobials for systemic use (35.45%) and group N (24.17%), medications for the nervous system and the third most reported group was B (14.60%), blood and hematopoietic organs.
