Abstract

Infecção do Trato Urinário (ITU) é definida comoa presença e multiplicação de microorganismos no tratourinário, previamente estéril. O termo foi criado há cercade meio século, após a introdução do conceito de bacteriúriasignificativa ou cultura de urina quantitativa positiva(Kass, 1955).
