De acordo com o Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), a população brasileira, em 2019, é estimada em mais de 210 milhões de pessoas, que estão distribuídas, de forma muito heterogênea, em uma área de mais de 8,5 milhões Km2 (1). Dessa forma, a saúde pública no Brasil constitui um cenário bastante complexo, no que se refere ao acesso da população ao serviço e ao número de profissionais de Saúde, principalmente em áreas mais remotas e comunidades menos assistidas.
