O PAPEL DA GLICEMIA CAPILAR NA DETECÇÃO E TRATAMENTO DO DIABETES MELLITUS TIPO 2
Abstract
O Diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (DM2) representa cerca de 95% dos diabéticos diagnosticados e resulta de defeitos na ação e/ou secreção de insulina que, quando não detectado precocemente ou tratado inadequadamente, pode evoluir para as complicações crônicas que levam à perda da qualidade de vida e morte prematura. As doenças cardiovasculares(hipertensão, infarto agudo do miocárdio, acidente vascular cerebral) são as complicações mais frequentes em pacientes DM2, além dos casos de cegueira, amputação de membros, impotência sexual e insuficiência renal (BAZOTTE, 2001).Downloads
