Abstract
O Diabetes Mellitus (DM) é uma síndrome de etiologiamúltipla, causada pela deficiência relativa ou absolutade insulina, resultante de alteração da função secretorapancreática ou de resistência à ação da insulina nostecidos alvo. Caracteriza‑se fundamentalmente por hiperglicemia,sendo que sua evolução afeta o metabolismode lipídeos e proteínas, além de promover complicaçõesmacrovasculares, microvasculares e neuropáticas (BRANCHTEIN& MATOS, 2006).Downloads
