Abstract

As pesquisas com o propósito de obter novos medicamentos, a partir de plantas, ou de aprimorar os fitoterápicos já existentes vêm reassumindo papel importante, nos últimos anos. (SIXEL,1998). Corroboram com isso a grande aceitação popular para o uso das plantas medicinais e, acima de tudo, a movimentação anual de vultosas quantias na economia mundial co o comércio de fitofármacos e a possibilidade de desenvolver novos medicamentos, a partir de moléculas naturais.
