Abstract

This article was designed to describe the use of chemotherapy and hormone therapy using an enteral tube,
based in a literature review, to facilitate decision-making in the routine of the institution. It was carried out a data survey of the antineoplasic agents and hormones used in the hospital service and it was conducted a search for indications for the use of these drugs through enteral devices using both label and off-label available in the main databases: PubMed, Lilacs, UptoDate and Micromedex, selecting the best references for carrying out the study. It was observed that most antineoplastic agents and hormones did not contain information about their use trough enteral devices in label, but there are already some post-marketing studies on this practice, out of the 15 antineoplastic agents and 5 hormones researched, only four of these drugs (Lexemethasno, Letrozole, Midostaurin and Vinorelbine) had no indication for use through enteral tube,
three of them (Lexemethasne, Letrozole and Midostaurin) due to no data available in the literature and one (Vinorelbine) due to a contraindication.
