Abstract

As dores crônicas afetam largamente a população mundial. Na Europa, um em cada cinco adultos é afetado por algum tipo de dor e/ou inflamação (BREIVIK etal., 2006), limitando suas funções, tornando um enorme problema para a saúde. Osteoartrite, artrite reumatóide e dores nas costas entre outros, têm um impacto altamente negativo na qualidade de vida das pessoas na comunidade(SPRANGERS et al., 2000).
