The Pharmaceutical Assistance Specialized Component (CEAF) seeks to guarantee drug treatment integrality for all diseases contemplated by it, based on the different lines of care presented in the Clinical Protocols and Therapeutic Guidelines (PCDT). This study aimed to analyze the understanding of Primary Care workers in Bahia State’s city about the right to access CEAF medicines and identify these workers’ knowledge about the medicines made available by this component and the necessary procedures for their acquisition through a descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, which used semi-structured interviews for data collection. The study field was two Family Health Units (FHU), located in the municipality of Feira de Santana, BA, located in the urban area. Two community health agents (CHA) and two nurses participated in this study. Thematic Content Analysis Technique was used for data analysis. This study showed limitations in relation to the knowledge of Primary Care health workers about CEAF, when asked about the understanding about the component, the necessary procedures for acquisition, and the available drugs. The deficiency in the knowledge of health workers about the specialized component may impair health care’s integrality as it leads to difficulties in access to these medicines by users.
