Educational action, environmental care, and pharmacological treatment are central to the treatment of asthma. This study aimed to apply methods to assist asthmatics to understand the use of drugs. This is an experience report developed at a primary health care center, in Santa Maria, Federal District, Brazil, from March to August 2022, in which the Arco de Maguerez was the methodological instrument chosen. Study stages were realized. The first stage was observing reality to identify the patient's difficulty in understanding the use of anti-asthmatics. The second stage was listing the key points to the matter: the central one was the lack of information from the medical consultation with a healthcare professional to the drug dispensing service. The third stage was theorizing the previous steps in the present study. The fourth stage was evaluating hypotheses of solutions: first, an educational folder; second, a workflow process of care; and third, a continuing process of education to pharmacy assistants and prescribers. Finally, the last step was chosen to produce a folder containing the main information about the correct use of anti-asthmatics and their devices, which was applied to reality. Thus, the selected solution is a pharmaceutical intervention capable of assisting the patient in rational pharmacotherapy.Downloads
