INFECÇÕES POR HELICOBACTER PYLORI DIA GNOSTICA DAS NO SERVIÇO DE ANATOMIA PATOLÓGICA E CITOPATOLOGIA DE FEIRA DE SANTANA-BA

Abstract

As gastrites são alterações histológicas da mucosa gástrica, onde se observa infiltrado de células inflamatórias(AGUIAR et al., 2002). A inflamação pode ser aguda, crônica ou apresentar formas especiais. A gastrite crônica bacteriana que está associada à infecção pela bactéria Helicobacter pylori, é o tipo de maior freqüência. Esta bactéria é também considerada um dos agentes causadores da úlcera péptica, estando classificada como carcinogênica pela International Agency for Research on Cancer onde étida como fator de risco primário para o câncer gástrico(SHAHJAHAN, 2004).Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) é um bastonete Gramnegativa, microaerófila e espiralada (LEVINSON; JAWETZ,1994; SHERMAN, 1994). A infecção gástrica pelo H. pylori é, atualmente, considerada a segunda infecção mais prevalente do homem, estando intimamente associada a um diverso espectro de desordens clínicas gastrintestinais, sendo este microrganismo o principal agente etiológico de mais de 95% das gastrites crônicas e úlceras duodenais, incluindo úlcera péptica, câncer gástrico e linfoma gástrico do tipo MALT (Mucosa Associated Lynphoid Tissue)(EVERHART, 2000).
